Past Bake Sales

  • In April, 100% (thanks to Mounia of Beitouna for matching our 5% Bakes Not Bombs cost need) of proceeds went to displaced families and pets in Lebanon. This sale was a smashing success, and may I might mention: basically a huge party on the street in front of Dolores Deluxe! SO MUCH FUN. A few of the bake sale hits were the falafel turnovers, maamouls, Lebanese lemonade, and Shio Pan!

  • In March, our sale’s net proceeds went to Justice At Last, the bay area’s only non-profit law firm that is dedicated to serving those who have been affected by human trafficking. In light of the horrific Epstein case and our immigrant communities being affected by this issue, we were excited to donate to this cause. We collected a $689 with $34 towards Bakes Not Bombs costs. A few of the bake sale hits were the Lemon Ricotta Cakes, Spring Veggie Tarts, and Coconut Strawberry Cakes. Such a beautiful start to Spring!

  • In February, our sale’s net proceeds went to Post Modern Times Cafe in Minneapolis. Post Modern Times is currently operating as a free cafe during the occupation of Minneapolis. As industry folk ourselves, we felt a kinship with Post Modern Times and were especially drawn to them as our organization for this month. To us, there’s no better way to share love than through food. We have loved seeing their efforts during this heartbreaking time. We collected a whopping net $1,192. From this sale, we deducted about $60 to go towards Bakes Not Bombs costs - such as the boxes I purchased (we went through 40+ this sale!!), ingredients and materials, and our time. A few of the bake sale hits were the Black Sesame Cinnamon Rolls, Peanut Butter Miso Cookies, and Vanilla Conchas ofc!

  • In January, our sale’s net proceeds went to Doctors Without Borders efforts’ in Sudan. We collected $619! From this sale, we deducted about $35 to go towards Bakes Not Bombs costs. A few of the bake sale hits were the Lime Meringue Tarts, Bananas Foster Cookies, and Liege Waffles. Yum!

  • In December, our sale’s proceeds went to the Alameda Food Bank. We collected $810, as well as over 50lbs of non-perishable food items! From this sale, we deducted $50 to go towards Bakes Not Bombs costs (going forward from here, we will take a flat 5% of the funds to cover logistical costs). A few of the bake sale hits were the Squash Cheddar Biscuits, Chocolate Fudge Brownies, and Chocolate Toffee Cookies!

  • In September, our sale’s proceeds went to World Central Kitchen’s efforts in Ukraine and Gaza (half and half). We raised $870! A few of the bake sale hits were the Parmesan Rosemary Scones, Spice Cake with Brown Butter Frosting, and the Whoopie Pies.

  • In September, our cause was to aid the unhoused and hungry. We chose Glide Memorial in San Francisco as our organization to donate to. We were able to raise $812! A few of the hits were: Pumpkin Spice Donuts (these have become a regular item, and are always a hit), Banana Basque Cheesecake, and Fig Pistachio Bars.

  • In August, our sale’s proceeds went to The Sameer Project in Gaza. We raised $1,033! A few of the bake sale hits were the Cardamom Cake, Japanese Beef Curry Hand Pies, and Candied Pecans.
